Why we are doing this
Most SEO case studies are written after the fact, about the sites that worked. This one is written as it happens, about every site, including the ones that do not. On October 7, 2026 we finished auditing a portfolio of 224 domains, most of them old and idle, and started rebuilding sites on the best of them.
Starting point
| Measure | October 7, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Domains in the portfolio | 224 |
| Hosting accounts audited | 70 |
| New sites live | 25 |
| New sites built, waiting to launch | 22 |
| Highest Semrush Authority Score | 6 |
| Median Semrush Authority Score | 2 |
In short: old domains, real backlinks, and no authority to speak of. See do old domains have authority? for the full audit.
The plan
- Fix control first. Every domain points at DNS and hosting we control, or is dropped on purpose.
- Build useful sites, not thin ones. Each new site is built around something people search for and a real dataset: verified store policies, cost data, calculators, local guides.
- Target realistic keywords. Most targets have a Semrush difficulty under 30. See keyword difficulty vs search volume.
- No shortcuts. No bought links, no invented reviews or ratings, no AI filler.
Updates
No results yet. The first measurements go up once the new sites have been live long enough to show real Search Console data. We will not publish estimates.
What we will report
Indexed pages, organic clicks and impressions from Google Search Console, referring domains and Authority Score from Semrush, and revenue once there is any. Numbers go up here as we have them, good or bad. We never estimate or round up.
